Are you looking for a fun and unique opportunity to earn graduate credits or CPDUs to use toward your teaching certification? You should make plans to attend the Vermilion County Farm Bureau's Summer Ag Institute. The 2011 Summer Ag Institute is scheduled for July 11-15 from 8 am to 4 pm each day.
Our Amazing Agventure will feature field trips to food processing factories, food distributors and local farms throughout Vermilion Coun
ty. You will see first hand how agriculture works by growing the products used for food, fabric, and fuel. You will also have plenty of hands-on experiences to make you feel more comfortable incorporating agriculture into your current classroom curriculum. You will also receive an Ag Resource Box filled with information to help you demonstrate a greater understanding of the complexity, scope and scale of Illinois agriculture.
The fee to attend the five day institute and earn 4
0 CPDUs is $150 for non-Farm Bureau members and $125 for members. The fee includes transportation, continental breakfast, 4 lunches, snacks and materials. If you would like to receive 3 graduate credits from Aurora University, please mark the box on your registration form and you will be sent more information on tuition and enrollment.
Your assignment will be to prepare a lesson plan incorporating agricultural concepts you learned throughout the institute into your existing curriculum and to record each day's activities in a journal provided by the Vermilion County Farm Bureau. All lesson plans will be compiled onto a CD and shared with each participant.
